News API has lot of limitations, so you just can’t plan to use this for your company or new projects.
Let me list down the top 3 limitations I have observed:
- You will not be able to get any news in languages like tamil, telugu etc. And there is no proper documentation about the list of languages supported.
- You will not be able to query the articles by query with country. For example, if you want to query the article with the query as “stock” and country as “in” (for india), you will get the response something like this, “The country param is not currently supported on the /everything endpoint.“
- You can not even try this API for sometime for your commercial projects. They have mentioned that if your project is in production, then you must have the account migrated to the paid plans. (This is not something good right ?)
Overall, we are not able to query based on multiple factors and customize the news responses. I really feel newsapi.org is something not in the good stage to try for new projects.
